Aminu Hamsudeen

Farmer Aminu has just harvested 100 bags of Maize from his farm in Funtua, Katsina State. Aminu has 4 rooms in his house, he occupies one room, whilst each of his 3 wives shares their rooms with their respective children. Aminu does not want to leave his grains outside because of pests so he takes them to a warehouse 2km from his house to store.

Mark and John

Trade Co. is a business owned by Mark and John. They have aggregated 500 bags of Maize which they intend to export, however, their export contract is for 2000 bags and they have run out of money. Mark and John intend to use the 500 bags they have as a collateral to lend money from a bank so that they can buy more grains to fulfil their export contract. So they take the 500bags to the warehouse, place it in storage and pledge the receipt to a bank who accepts the collateral by placing a lien on them via the system until the loan is paid back.
